Online lessons are another form of in-home piano lessons ideal for distant students. Although they are not as effective as in-studio lessons, online lessons are a great alternative to learning to play the piano. Students are required to have the following items for effective online lessons: a working webcam and microphone, a piano or keyboard, a notepad, and a writing utensil (e.g. pen, pencil, and/or highlighter). Lessons are held through video chat via Skype, Google+ Hangouts, Facetime, or Facebook messenger. Lessons can be held through a tablet or iPad with a working internet connection.
"I purchased a Monthly Plan of online lessons for my daughter who plays at an intermediate level. Using FaceTime, Alec quickly identified areas to help her maximize her success. Alec first offered praise and then gave her exercises to strenghthen her weaknesses. I highly recommend online lessons for anyone wishing to increase their enjoyment of playing the piano."
